The history of Quinta das Buganvílias traces its origins to the beginning of the 20th century and the experience of a rural family, at a time when farms were almost self-sufficient.

The adaptation for rural tourism took place in 1994 and sought to maintain the original design of the buildings and the identity of the property, providing it with the comfort and functionalities necessary for tourism.

Since 2012, the farm has been managed by a couple who have remained faithful to the local culture and authenticity.

Our rooms offer a welcoming and comfortable environment, ideal for short or medium-term stays. With areas ranging from 14 m² to 31 m², each type has been carefully designed to provide tranquility, privacy, and an authentic farm experience.

The rooms located in the Stone House benefit from a rustic and exclusive atmosphere, with access to a shared kitchenette and a common living room, as well as privileged views of the garden.

As for the rooms of the Main House they stand out for their unique views of the garden and the sea, combining history, charm and comfort in a single space.

Madly in love!!!! It is simply indescribably beautiful, with wonderfully furnished, clean, and spacious rooms. A huge garden to marvel at and relax in. The breakfast is absolutely amazing. A truly delightful stay at Quinta das Buganvílias in Faial, Azores! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the warmth and hospitality of the owners and their entire team. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the highlights of the stay – truly delicious, with an impressive variety of fresh, homemade ingredients. The homemade cakes and jams were a special treat, and the local cheese offered a wonderful taste of the Azores. The care put into preparing each morning meal is evident. In addition to the wonderful food and friendly people, the stunning garden provides a serene and beautiful setting to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the island. We could not have asked for a better experience and highly recommend Quinta das Buganvílias to anyone visiting Faial.

A truly charming place to stay. We were greeted by the friendly farm dog, felt at home from the very first minute, and enjoyed a wonderful, family-like atmosphere with the other guests. The two guest houses are nestled in a huge and magical garden. The rooms were individually decorated with great attention to detail. The property even has a private tunnel (that goes under the airport runway) leading to the sea. We were already looking forward to the next day’s breakfast. There were eggs from the farm’s chickens, regional cheeses, fresh bread, fruits, and vegetables from the garden. From the small terrace, we could watch dolphins and planes. The proximity to the airport was perfect for us and not bothersome at all.

Our stay at Quinta das Buganvílias was simply delightful. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The property itself is picturesque, with beautifully maintained gardens and a tranquil atmosphere that provided the perfect retreat. One of the highlights was the breakfast, which was not only delicious but truly special. We enjoyed fresh produce straight from the Quinta's garden, adding a local touch that made each meal memorable. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic Azorean experience in Faial.
